ABOUT LYDIA LUCAS

Lydia’s journey began as a residential pupil at Lars Sederholm’s Waterstock Training Centre. Under the tuition of equestrian experts including Lars Sederholm himself, Tina, Anneka and Annelise Sederholm, and Yogi Breisner, she gained invaluable skills in producing horses for all disciplines. Show jumping, however, stole her heart. It was during this period at Waterstock where she successfully produced her first two horses, leading to their selection for Young Horse Teams.

Despite an interlude in her equestrian career due to an unfortunate fall, Lydia’s passion for producing young horses remained unquenched. This passion led her to establish Saxon Equestrian in Devon in 1999. Leveraging the techniques she learned from Lars, she turned her attention to the careful production and sale of young horses.

With meticulous attention to each horse’s individual needs, Lydia prepares each horse for its new home, keeping a firm focus on routine, calmness, and confidence. The result is a collection of carefully produced, quality horses ready for sale. As a consequence of Lydia’s dedication, many of these horses have not only been sold, but have also had successful show jumping careers and compete at various levels.
